About the company

LDD.CA is a Canada-based provider of conveyancing software and services with a national footprint. In the field selling is essential to retention and growth across provinces—often in unfamiliar geographies.

When Senior Account Manager Paul Fihrer joined 18 months ago, there was no reliable way to plan efficient multi-stop days or capture visit notes on the go. A process-reengineering specialist by background, Paul set out to find a mapping and routing platform that would work across iPhone and Android, integrate tightly with Zoho CRM, and eliminate double data entry.

After trialling a native Zoho mapping add-on and other tools, he introduced Mapsly.

Why Mapsly

Purpose-built routing and visit execution. Mapsly combines optimized routing (including time windows, meeting length, priorities, and default start/finish locations) with mobile check-in/out + notes—removing the need to juggle Google Maps, spreadsheets, and CRM screens.

Configurable list/table views and filters. Sales reps can tailor what they see—fields, layers, filters, and the table view—to quickly segment accounts and leads for a region or a trip.

Cross-platform + deep CRM sync. Paul’s team runs mostly iPhones; he uses a Google Pixel. He needed a mobile app on iOS and Android with offline capability, check-ins, and instant sync to CRM—so the “system of record” is always current.

Daily prospecting and list building—without the wait

Paul compared Mapsly’s flow with a legacy method inside Zoho.

“We have thousands of records. The area tool some of my teammates use takes ~20 minutes to load every time. Then you still have to figure out what you’re looking for. It’s like walking around in the dark.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

With Mapsly, he starts with a plan: filter territories or cities, pull up just the relevant accounts/leads, and export what he needs—no waiting for bulk loads, no generic lists to clean.

“I’d rather be proactive—know where I’m going and why.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

He also teaches reps to customize layers and filters so the map instantly highlights the right slice—by lifecycle stage, region, or any custom field—rather than dumping “a whole bunch of junk I don’t need.”

“ I’d rather know more than less before I’m in the car.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

Optimized routing that fits real life

Early on, Paul’s route planning took “a full day” per trip. He toggled between CRM filters, multiple Google Maps tabs, and manual list building to shape a sequence—then saved personal map links to his phone.

Now it’s much easier.

“It takes me a couple of minutes because I don’t have to think about the routing—the tool does it.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

He sets priorities, adds calendar-fixed demos into the plan, and defines start (airport) and finish (hotel) for each day. If something changes mid-route, Mapsly re-optimizes based on the current location.

A recent Nova Scotia four-day swing:

  • Day names saved as “Demo Day One/Two/Three” + a Client Visit day
  • Airport as start on Day 1; hotel as end
  • A prospect discovered to be four hours away was excluded in seconds after a quick check
  • The plan mixed demos and field visits with clear stop priorities.

Longer horizon? Mapsly supports multi-day “long-haul” routing with night breaks and overtime rules when needed—handy as the team scales coverage.

Check-ins and notes on mobile that save hours a day

Before Mapsly’s check-in + notes, a 10-stop day meant half a day back in the office: find each record in Zoho, create the meeting, fill defaults, then type notes—“and I might miss something.”

Now: “At the client, I tap Check In, enter notes, mark as done—that’s five minutes.” The three hours are eliminated, repurposed for follow-ups and selling.

“People underestimate how valuable that one piece of functionality is.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

Paul also standardized note-taking company-wide.

“When I arrived, there wasn’t a single note in Zoho. Now everything’s there—I can pull up a conversation from three months ago before I walk in.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

As one of two Mapsly admins, Paul onboards colleagues, configuring defaults (start time, visit duration, and home base), and shows them how to pull the table up to add the fields that matter for their territory mix. For reps who prefer a reactive “arrive then look” style, he points to time saved by planning ahead—and how overflow makes tomorrow’s list painless.

Quantified impact

  • Routing time: from 1 full day to a few minutes per route. On longer regional trips, Mapsly saved 2–3 days of prep, completed “over a few hours.”
  • Admin after driving days: from ~3 hours of back-office data entry to ~5 minutes per stop captured on mobile—time fully recaptured for sales activity.
  • Visibility & recall: one-tap access to Zoho notes inside Mapsly mobile before each meeting keeps context fresh and follow-ups crisp.

“It eliminated that whole three hours. If I get home at three o’clock, I’m not doing data entry—I’m doing sales.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

Paul’s advice to teams still “walking around in the dark”

“Be proactive. Go in knowing where you’re going, why, and what you’ll say—before you’re in the car. Configure your defaults, tune your filters, and let the tool do the routing.” – Paul Fihrer, Senior Account Manager at LDD.CA

Mapsly gave his team a simple daily ritual: plan in minutes, visit more with less driving, and capture every detail while it’s fresh. That’s how field sales wins.
